A Weekend in Seattle

Over Labor Day weekend, Charlie and I managed to have a little get away just to ourselves! So, we left the kids with Keena and Poppa, hopped on a plane Friday evening after work and ventured out to Seattle. The main purpose of our trip was to attend a wedding on Saturday evening, but we managed to do many more things while we were there.

Once we arrived on Friday, our evening was mostly about relaxing and enjoying the fact that we were away alone ... the first time in a very long time! We watched TV without interruption, and actually watched adult shows! The things that amaze us!!

Saturday morning, we got up and enjoyed breakfast in the hotel restaurant, then joined some friends of Charlie's from Portland for lunch. They drove up to visit with us. We ate at an amazing seafood restaurant ... very fresh and right on Lake Union.

After lunch, Charlie and I ventured out on our own to do a few "touristy" things in Seattle. What else are you to do but to go up in the space needle and catch a great view of the city?? Well, that is exactly what we did. There was a music festival going on as well, so we got to hear some great music, see a few odd sites like the world's largest Lite Brite and a man that was riding a bike for a cure for something that had already rode over 1,000 miles. The fun, the fun!

Here it is ... the world's largest Lite Brite!

My awesome take at a pic of the Seattle Space Needle!

An amazing view of Downtown Seattle from the top of the space needle!

After we returned from the space needle, it was time to get ready to attend the wedding. Unfortunately, I did not take any pictures at the wedding, but we did get one from a friend of us! We had a great time and wish our congratulations to Laura and Frank! It was a very fun wedding, and we enjoyed great conversation with some other friends that attended!

I will leave what we did on Sunday to another post ... it will be a long one! But for right now, this is a start to our weekend adventure in Seattle!
