C.J.'s 15 Month Check Up

We finally went to do C.J.'s 15 month check up. He was 15 months on March 19th, but we never got around to scheduling his appt because of this or that going on, and finally did it on Monday.

C.J. is a healthy growing boy. The Dr and I discussed at length the fact that he is not yet walking, and she wants to monitor him for another month to see his progress. She was ok with it, especially since C.J. wasn't quite 37 weeks at birth, and she is pleased with the fact that he is pulling up and "cruising" holding on to furniture and will take a few steps, but he seems to turn his left foot way out and lose his balance a lot. She checked his legs, knees, muscles, feet, and measurements and everything seemed fine, so she decided to give him a bit more time to see how he does on progressing in his walking.

She was pleased with the fact that we seem to have figured out all of his reflux and gas issues by eliminating milk and eggs from his diet. He seems to have an intolerance to them, and has been a totally different little guy ever since their removal from his diet.

We did have one slight little issue that the Dr will be watching closely. When she took his measurements, this is what we got:

23.1 lbs - 29th percentile
31.5 inches - 45th percentile

These numbers are way off of his growth curves. He has typically been in the 80th -90th percentile in height and in the 50th percentile for weight. The height measurement was her biggest concern. His weight has fluctuated a little, however, by my records, it seems that he has only gained about 3 lbs since around 9 months. But, his height dropping so much puts him definitely what they consider "off his curve" and she was a bit apprehensive about it. She did decide to wait and see what we get with his measurements at 18 months. She said there are so many factors that the best thing we can do is just wait and see where he measures out at 18 months and go from there. At this time, we are ok with doing that, just a little nervous with the waiting game.

Otherwise, C.J. is a very healthy little fella, and is right on in his other areas of development. He is such a very happy little man, and loves just hanging out and playing ... there's not much that bothers this little one! Not even getting in around 4 teeth all together at the same time right now!!! We just may keep him!!! ;-)
