On the right track ...

We went to the specialist today with C.J. and mostly just found out that we need to do more testing. He was not happy with the initial immunoglobulin results and wants to run a full immune panel that includes all of the antibodies and their subcategories as well as some other blood panels and allergy testing. They are also doing some more extensive testing to look into all of his digestive issues, etc., as he feels that they are all related and is not sure which one is causing the other.

While we were at the Dr's, he did do a weight and height check. While C.J.'s height has now increased back into around the 50-75%, his weight was down into the 10%.

Unfortunately, we do not know much more at this time, but do feel much better to finally get to look into things and see what is going on. Over the next week, we will be doing the blood tests, an Upper GI, a chest x-ray, and some viral and baceteria tests.

We have still been advised to keep C.J. out of child care situations, play areas, and areas that are secluded with children. He is also having us take extra precautions in light of this new outbreak as well (precautionary of the ever so popular 'swine flu epidemic' just because it could be more of a fight for someone like C.J. with low immunities).

Our follow-up appointment is scheduled for May 21st and at that time, we will get the results of all of the tests and hopefully be able to put everything together and format a treatment plan.

While we still are waiting for "answers" so to say, we feel that we are on the right track with things. We appreciate all of the concern, prayers and thoughts from everyone. We will be sure to update here when we know more.
