A Fun-Filled Evening With Mommy

The kids and I decided to get out of the house this afternoon/evening and see what we could find. Hayley had noticed some wildflowers on a walking trail near our house, so we decided to go driving around and see what else there was to discover. Of course, this included taking tons of pictures!!!

Now, you would think that as much as Hayley loves flowers, that she would have loved to go running into the bluebonnets or at least get close to them. But, there were bees. The fact that Hayley is a bit "scared" of bees to say the least should be prefaced with a story about our soccer game a couple of weeks ago where a swarm of bees (I'm talking millions of bees) decided to migrate right across our field. So, she was not to interested in getting anywhere too near the flowers with bees. They do make a nice background, though!

On our way back across the bridge on the walking trail, the kids decided to take a little pit stop to look down at the rushing water in the stream below.

We then went to get some dinner and set out to find a place to have a nice little picnic. I remembered that pretty near our house, they just finished a nice little addition to a park along the walking trails. From the road, I could see some nice stone work and that there was something inside, but when we venture out to see what it was and look for a place for our picnic, we found more than a park. It is a very nice Veterans Memorial with statues and flags of all of our military branches.

C.J. was very interested in the statues ...

One of my favorites ...

Couldn't resist catching a few on the stairs.

And just one last neat picture to leave you with ...
